Mini-Mozarts

Mini- Mozarts is a music readiness program for children age 3 – 5.  It is based on the concept that music for young children is better caught than taught.  All activities in this course will provide a foundation for more formal instruction.  Your child will not walk away from this class with any concrete concepts.  However, they will be exposed to a variety of music and concepts that will provide a firm foundation and curiosity for future learning.

Young children live and learn in the world of the senses.  This class will seek to stimulate those by:  providing a warm, nurturing environment; use of quality story books; use of props for dramatic play; use of rhythm instruments; use of artwork and crafts to refine concentration and small motor skills.

We will do many crafts and art projects in this class.  I prefer to keep them simple, using items found in the home.  We will make ‘pretend’ ice skates from paper plates; Mardi gras masks from paper plates; drums from oatmeal containers; doggie puppets from lunch bags; maracas from plastic pop bottles; fairy nests from check book boxes and flower petals, to name a few.

We will have snacks at each class.  You may volunteer to help out in this area however I am happy to provide them.  We explore different tastes relating to some themes.  Some your child will like and others they may not.  That’s all right.  The point is to be open to exploring.

I'll be accepting enrollments for Fall 2023.  Class meets once a week and runs from September to May.  Please contact me for more information.
